The problem with every foam mattress until now
Inside the typical memory foam mattress
Mattresses have always consisted of horizontal layers of foam, springs, or gel. Soft upper layers provide cushioning and firm lower layers provide support. To increase comfort, more soft layers are added. To increase firmness, soft layers are removed.
The foam slab design is inherently flawed
The problem is, separating comfort and support into disconnected layers always leads to compromising comfort for support or vice versa. The more soft layers you add for comfort, the less support you get—leading to back pain. The more support you provide, the less comfort there is—leading to hip and shoulder pain. The design itself is inherently flawed and will always produce an unsatisfactory sleep experience.
Introducing a radically different technology.
Unzipping the Ziwi mattress
With ZiPP technology, Ziwi has created a completely different approach to mattress design with three revolutionary features you can’t find anywhere else.
1. Integrated soft and firm foam
Alternating channels of soft and firm foam are interlocked vertically, giving you the benefits of both at the same time. No more horizontal layers of mediocrity. It’s vertical comfort and support that extends from the top to the bottom of the mattress.
2. Channel flex
The soft and firm foam channels are designed to bend to your body’s weight and shape, which means the downward force that usually rebounds upward on sensitive pressure points (like shoulders and hips) is instead redirected horizontally to adjacent channels. This reduces pressure on your softs spots while enhancing support for back, sides, and legs—regardless of your shape, size, or sleep position.
3. Natural cooling airways
The flexing channels are also designed to function as active air vents. When they bend, they allow heat to escape from the mattress, providing natural, continuous cooling that lasts all night long. Other companies claim to cool their mattresses with gels, beads, graphite, or metals, but once those materials reach their heat absorption capacity, they actually store heat, keeping the mattress hot and preventing you from getting a full night’s sleep.
