FAQs

What is Ziwi ZiPP™ technology?

Ziwi ZiPP™ refers to the interlocking of two types of foam in a vertical weave of rows. To sleep healthy, parts of our bodies need soft comfort (hips, shoulders) while other parts need firm support at the same time (back, ribs, legs). These opposing needs are impossible to get in flat layer of foam and are hard to consistently provide in stacks of foam. The patent-pending Ziwi ZiPP™ technology weaves together appropriately soft foam with balanced firm foam in a way that allows the bed to deliver targeted softness where you need it at the same time as precision support everywhere else. The design amplifies the benefits of both while counteracting any negatives. You can read more about how on the Ziwi ZiPP Technology Page.

Ziwi ZiPP™ is a new technology how durable is it?

Ziwi beds use highly durable, well-tested foams in the Ziwi ZiPP™ designs. Each bed is has been thoroughly tested against the standards of the industry, and passed with flying colors. Because of the long history of durability of the component foams, we are confident in the durability too of the Ziwi ZiPP™. That’s why we can offer a 20-year warranty with favorable terms of performance. You deserve to have a warrior’s sleep because tomorrow won’t conquer itself.

Do Ziwi beds sleep hot?

Science has demonstrated that a neutral or cool sleep environment dramatically improves sleep quality. Certain mattress components can absorb body heat and reflect it back at the sleeper, disrupting their rest. Ziwi’s founders placed cooling as one of the key factors to solve in every bed design from the very beginning. All our foams have open cell formulations to varying degrees. This will help heat to be pulled away from the surface of the bed, so you remain cool as a cucumber. Ziwi also has a cooling technology that no other bed can have, the Ziwi ZiPP™ design. Ziwi ZiPP™ is engineered to open airways as you settle into bed. The deeper you sink into comfort, the more heat-releasing channels open to keep you comfortable. It’s like a summer breeze.

Can I return my mattress if I’m not happy with it?

We hope you will find your Ziwi experience is one to rave about. However, if you find yourself struggling to sleep comfortable or for long, we recommend talking to one of our trained sleep agents. They can help you with the full range of options, from sleep advice, to exchanging products, to returns. We provide a 100-night sleep trial because we believe in our beds and you deserve to wake ready to build a better day.

Do Ziwi beds have a foam odor?

Some foams will have a light odor fresh out of the box, but that will dissipate within a few hours and is not potent enough to cause harm or disrupt your comfort.

What warranty do you offer?

Our warranty is a 20-year limited warranty against manufacturer defects and product failures. For example, your bed will not come apart nor will it develop a permanent valley or sag per the warranty terms available here.

How long does it take to adjust to sleeping on a Ziwi bed?

Most customers begin sleeping well on their Ziwi bed right away. However, there can be a little adjustment period for some sleepers, so don’t panic! Ziwi ZiPP™ technology provides spine alignment, support, and targeted pressure relief. If you have been sleeping on something that lacks significantly in one or more of these necessary features, your body may need a few nights to get used to them.

How is the bed packaged and delivered?

Ziwi beds are compressed and rolled into a large box sent via a parcel carrier such as FedEx or UPS. Once opened, the bed will expand quickly to shape (make sure it is logo side up) and be ready to sleep on within an hour. It may take up to 72 hours for some foam components to fully recover but even those will still be comfortable within an hour of opening.

Are Ziwi beds easy to move?

Ziwi beds are similar in weight with other high quality foam mattresses. They aren’t light but two adults are usually able to maneuver the bed around about as easily as you would expect. The beds are rigid enough to be stood on their side or end while moving them around, but should travel flat if loaded on a vehicle when moving.

How soon after unpacking can I sleep in my bed?

The bed will expand quickly to shape (make sure it is logo side up) and be ready to sleep on within an hour. It may take up to 72 hours for some foam components to fully recover but even those will still be comfortable within an hour of opening.

Will this bed form a sag or valley like my old bed?

Ziwi beds are made with only the highest quality materials available. They have been tested for durability and exceeded expectations in all industry standard tests. Our warranty protects against sagging and valleys according to the full terms on our Warranty page. Provided the mattress is used on an appropriate frame or foundation, you have nothing to worry about.

Can these beds be used on adjustable bed frames?

You bet! The Ziwi beds bend with an adjustable frame well and while they do dampen some massage vibration due to the nature of the patent-pending Ziwi ZiPP™ technology, you should still feel the massage feature of your adjustable base coming through.

What type of frame or foundation is ok to use with a Ziwi bed?

All Ziwi beds should be properly supported by placing them on an appropriately sturdy frame or foundation to provide you proper alignment and maintain the warranty terms. Avoid any foundation that has springs in it (yes, a “box spring” used to have actual springs but rarely do anymore). Slat frames must have the slats spaced no more than 3” apart. An adjustable base, a platform, or many kinds of slat frames are just fine.

Do I need a mattress protector?

Yes, you should always use a mattress protector to keep your bed clean. Stains and odors may end the trial period and void the warranty. We recommend a mattress protector that has some elasticity or stretch. Non-stretchy protectors or sheets will restrict your ability to sink into the bed or for the bed to properly isolate your hips and shoulders for maximum comfort.
