These opposing needs are impossible to get in a mattress made of stacked foam layers. A key part of the Ziwi ZiPP™ design are weight-activated airways that open up as you settle into bed, continuously venting heat away from the mattress and your body. The deeper you settle into the mattress, the more airways are opened up to keep you comfortable. The exact opposite is true with typical foam mattresses—the deeper you sink, the more heat gets trapped. That’s why other companies add gels, beads, and metals to temporarily absorb heat, but these additives reach capacity quickly and actually hold onto and reflect body heat back to the sleeper. In addition to our airways, all our foams have open cell formulations that pull heat away from the surface of
the bed, helping to cool even more.

All Ziwi beds should be placed on an appropriately sturdy frame or foundation. This not only helps provide proper alignment, but it also maintains your mattress warranty. An adjustable base, a platform, or a slat frame with slats spaced no more than 3” apart are just fine. Avoid any foundation that has springs in it (yes, a “box spring” used to have actual springs but rarely does anymore).

Most customers begin sleeping well on their Ziwi® bed right away. However, there can be a short adjustment period for some sleepers, so don’t panic! Ziwi ZiPP™ technology provides optimal pressure relief, support, and spine alignment. If you've been sleeping on something deficient in one or more of these areas, your body may need several nights to adjust to an improved sleep experience.

There might be a light odor fresh out of the box, but that will dissipate within a few hours and is not potent enough to cause harm or disrupt your comfort.

You bet! The Ziwi® beds bend with an adjustable frame well and while they do dampen some massage vibration due to the nature of the patent-pending Ziwi ZiPP™ technology, you should still feel the massage feature of your adjustable base coming through.

Our warranty is a 20-year limited warranty against manufacturer defects and product failures. For example, your bed will not come apart nor will it develop a permanent valley or sag per the warranty terms available here.
